Stay Hydrated - The 8x8 Rule

The skin is the largest organ on the body, and the body is made of 64% water. When you’re dehydrated, your skin becomes dry, less resilient and more wrinkle-prone.

Conversely, when you’re properly hydrated, your skin will plump, reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Our rule of thumb is 8 oz of water, 8 times a day. We recommend carrying a reusable bottle of water when possible, as this will help you keep track of your water intake and is also environmentally friendly. While plain water is best, you can drink un-caffeinated teas and sparkling water to mix it up, but make sure there’s no added sugar. Eating fruits and vegetables will also help, because they have such high water content.

Don’t worry if it seems like a lot - we encourage you to work up to it, since most people don’t drink this much water in one day. Once you make this a habit, you’ll find yourself looking and feeling better. Stay hydrated - your skin will thank you!
