Face Oils vs Moisturizer: do I need both?

We often get the question: if I use a face oil such as OVERNIGHT FACIAL, do I need a moisturizing cream like HYDRALIFT as well?

The answer is...it depends on your skin type.

Face oils can be a luxurious addition to any skin care regimen (even oily skin, because oil can help to balance oil). They can also provide moisture and help deliver other ingredients into the skin easily, due to their thinner texture. However, unlike creams, they don't have a humectant quality, which means they do not form a moisture-binding layer on top of the skin, which many people who experience dryness and dehydration seek. For very dry skin types, or when you feel the need for extra hydration, it's best to use both, by layering a face oil underneath a moisturizing cream. For most other skin types, you can use these two products interchangeably and this will help give you the moisture for dewy, glowing, moisturized skin.
