The Myth of Overcleansing

You know that feeling you get when you’re done washing your face? That taut feeling, the sensation that you’re squeaky clean and you’ve done a good job?

We hate to break it to you, but… that's not how your cleanser should leave you!

Unfortunately, many of us associate cleansed skin with that tight feeling, but what that really signals is that your cleanser is over-stripping your skin of the oils it needs. We often disrupt our natural moisture balance, which is why we often feel the need to moisturize right afterwards.

LUMINOUS (for normal and dry skin) and REBALANCE (for oily and combination skin)

You don’t need a cleanser that works like dishwashing detergent – you just need a cleanser to gently remove impurities from the day. For normal and dry skin types, a balm cleanser like LUMINOUS is a great option because it is oil-based and restores moisture while cleansing. For oily and combination skin, a gentle gel cleanser like REBALANCE that doesn’t include harsh foaming agents (like sodium laureth sulfate) is a great option to cleanse and minimize excess oil. Just remember...squeaky clean and shiny? Great for plates, but not for your face.
